Victoria Barros is a Certified Massage Therapist, a graduate of Everest College and has been practicing massage for four years. “I decided to study Massage Therapy for a variety of reasons, the two most important being: I’d been interested in the field for several years and, second, I saw how much my mother looked forward to receiving her weekly massage and how it helped her relax.”
The massage modalities taught at Everest included: Reflexology, Myofascial Release, Polarity Therapy, Infant Massage, Myofascial Release, Polarity Therapy, Sports, Pre Natal, Shiatsu, and Swedish.
“The closing line in my mission statement is ‘Massage Therapy is an essential component to improving and developing well being on all levels.’ I look forward to helping my clients develop and improve that sense of well being.”
Hal has been practicing massage since 1989. He began his training in Taiwan learning Chinese Tui Na Massage from an acupunturist. Hal then finished college at UCSC and started teaching Chinese Martial Arts while working and saving money for another trip to Asia. In 1994 he made a long trip to Thailand and got his first certificate in Thai Massage from Wat Pho in Bangkok. Hal then returned to Santa Cruz and enrolled in Twin Lakes Massage School and got his CMT certificate there. He then spent the next 8 years traveling back and forth to Thailand, India, Nepal and Tibet learning their massage and acupressure techniques. Most of these modalities have acupressure point meridian systems built into the massage which stimulates the body towards healing. This type of massage appealed to Hal’s understanding of the body he developed through his Martial Arts practice and Chi Gung. Hal incorporates all of the asian styles of massage into his Thai Massage and has been practicing in Marin County California since 2003.
